Allow the moisturizer a few minutes to sink in and apply a medium coverage, dewy finish foundation. I’m using Paese Lush Velvet foundation, shade 21. Unless you have oily skin, try to stir clear from a chalky or matte finish.

Draw attention to the center of your face, by applying a cream foundation, highlighter or concealer under the eyes and to the sides of the nose, by creating a triangle that starts from the inner corners of the eye to the nostrils and finally the outer corner of the eyes.

Also highlight the center of the nose, forehead and chin to achieve that heart shaped look that is representative for Marilyn.

Contouring is an equally important step for this look, in order to achieve high cheekbones, a slimmer nose and a smaller chin and jaw line. Start by applying a darker cream foundation or concealer under the cheekbones, and just under the jaw line, on the sides of the nose and especially on the tip.

Blend everything at the extremities with a stippling brush or a beauty blender sponge and apply a light dusting of sheer powder to set everything. I’m using Bare Minerals Loose Powder.

50s makeup is definitely focused on the angular, pinkish blush that gave a healthy, youthful glow. I’m using MAC Dainty just under the cheekbones and also on the temples, to balance the whole look.

Next, contour your eyebrows in the classical ’50s shape that Marilyn wore, using a tapered brush and a gel liner, eyebrow powder or pencil. The shape should be angular, to further emphasize the contouring and highlighting and to draw attention to the center of the face, especially the eyes.

    • To achieve the iconic Marilyn Monroe makeup look, follow these steps:
      1. Start by preparing your skin: Cleanse your face using a gentle cleanser and moisturize it well.
      2. Apply foundation: Marilyn Monroe had flawless, radiant skin. Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and apply it evenly all over your face, blending it well with a brush or sponge.
      3. Conceal imperfections: Use a concealer to hide any blemishes, dark circles, or redness. Dab a small amount of concealer on these areas and blend it out gently with your fingers or a brush.
      4. Set the base: To ensure your makeup lasts longer, lightly dust your face with a translucent powder to set the foundation and concealer.
      5. Shape and define your eyebrows: Marilyn Monroe had well-defined arched eyebrows. Use a brow pencil or powder that matches your natural brow color to fill in any sparse areas and shape your brows to match the classic Marilyn shape.
      6. Create sultry eyes: Marilyn Monroe's signature look included the famous winged eyeliner and full lashes.
      7. - Start by lining your upper lash line with a black liquid or gel eyeliner. Begin from the inner corner and gradually thicken the line as you move towards the outer corner, extending it slightly to create a small wing. - Apply a few coats of mascara to your upper lashes. For added drama, you can also use false eyelashes or opt for lash extensions.
      8. Add depth to the eyes: Choose neutral eyeshadow shades like browns, taupes, and beiges. Apply a light shade over your eyelids, a slightly darker shade in the crease, and blend well for a natural look.
      9. Get a rosy glow: Use a soft pink or peach blush to create a natural flush on your cheeks. Smile and apply it to the apples of your cheeks, blending towards your temples.
      10. Perfect the pout: Marilyn Monroe was known for her voluptuous, red lips.
      11. - Start by using a lip liner in a shade similar to your lipstick to outline and shape your lips. Overline slightly to create fuller-looking lips. - Fill in your lips with a vibrant red lipstick, making sure to stay within the lines drawn by the lip liner. - Blot your lips with a tissue, then reapply another coat of lipstick for longevity.
      12. Finishing touches: Take a step back and look for any areas that need touch-ups or further blending. Smooth out any harsh lines and ensure everything is well-blended and balanced.
      13. To complete the Marilyn Monroe look, consider styling your hair into soft, bouncy curls and accessorize with classic jewelry. Remember, confidence is key in pulling off this glamorous vintage look!
