Nioxin Diaboost Treatment for thinning hair Review
You all know about the tremendous effort I have to put into styling my thin, fine hair. Washing my hair and leaving it to dry naturally, without any help from styling tools is never an option, if I want to keep my hair from looking flat. Normally, to achieve volume, I need to tease my hair and apply tons of hairspray. Thankfully, I’ve discovered a product that actually helps those with thinning hair, which increasedc the thickness and pumped the volume – Nioxin Diaboost Intensive Treatment.
After attending the launching event held for this hair product, I received a sample to use, test out for you guys and share my thoughts. Diaboost is the first product I use from this brand, although I’ve read many favorable reviews on the “USA’s top selling brand for thinning hair”.
Nioxin – treatment for hair thinning
Nioxin is a brand with over 25 years experience in providing thicker, fuller, denser looking hair, thanks to innovation and research. The brand’s founder, Eva Graham, began to address the issue of thinning hair after the birth of her first child, something most women can relate to.
However, I have to admit I did not expect such great results in an category where – let’s face it – most products are just overpriced bottles of miracle unicorn tears. After using the Nioxin Diaboost treatment for fine, thin hair, I researched other products from the brand and discovered that the Intensive Hair Booster and the Thinning Hair System Kits from are very popular hair products as well, which offer long term result for both male and female users.
Their current current best-seller is the Hair System Kit 2 for fine and natural, noticeably thinning hair, but I’m sure the latest Diaboost instant-fix solution will catch soon. I, for one am dying to test them together and see how they work as a complete hair regimen.
Nioxin Diaboost Intensive Treatment
If you have fine, thin hair, there’s no doubt you use various volumising products to give your hair a boost in fullness. The problem with that is that all the traditional mousse, hairspray and even the newer hair powders can build up and weigh strands down, leaving hair looking limp – something you were actually trying to fix.
For that reason alone, I advise you to try Nioxin Diaboost, a leave-in hair treatment that really increases the thickness of the hair and gives it a fuller appearance. In my case, it was more spectacular than anything else I’ve tried before.
Focusing on the decreasing diameter on thinning hairs, Diaboost Thickening Xtrafusion Treatment helps to strengthen and improve the thickness of each hair strand. The Xtrafusion treatment has been scientifically designed and tested, and works on the outside of the hair from the very first use, immediately enhancing the appearance of your hair.
While their core products – Thinning Hair Systems – are designed to improve scalp and hair health over time, the new Diaboost is an instant-fix product. The makers claim that this gives you the look of an extra 11,000 hair strands (based on the average scalp of 100,000 hairs). I don’t know about that, but I do think that the hair is considerably fuller.
This product is formulated using breakthrough HTX Technology which increases the thickness of each individual hair strand.
A blend of Niacinamide, Caffeine and Panthenol brings skincare science to the hair and is clinically proven to penetrate deep into the hair shaft to strengthen resilience and reduce hair loss due to breakage.
Here is the full list of ingredients for you to check out before purchasing this:
Alcohol Denat, Aqua/Water, Niacinamide, PEG/PPG-20/23 Dimethicone, Caffeine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Parfum, Panthenol, Triethanolamine, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Menthol, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxymethypentylcyclohexenecarboxenecarboxaldehyde, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Citronellol.
I love the fact that this easy to use spray treatment offers body and volume to the hair, without the build-up you get from mousses and gel or the tangles you get from hairsprays. If anything, my hair tangles less and I feel it smoother, with the added benefits of volume at the crown and hairline.
The best part about Diaboost’s formula is its texture. Lightweight and non-sticky, the silky treatment won’t weigh your hair down or make it feel greasy, whilst the targeted spray design allows for precise application.
It’s particularly ideal for fine, thinning hair as well as for men who experience hair loss at the hairline.
How to apply Nioxin Diaboost
The product is simple to use, just spray onto the roots evenly around the head and comb through the hair. You can use it morning or evening on wet or dry, natural or coloured hair and with all usual styling products. May be used alone or as the perfect addition to your regimen.
- For fine hair, apply 2-3 sprays daily
- For thicker hair, use 4-5 sprays daily
Nioxin Diaboost offers you a next to natural, born with it volume, as the hair remains build-up free and strands still completely flexible. Should you want to achieve an elegant hairstyle, say for a wedding or a party, you can follow up with styling tools like a curling iron or heated curlers and apply hairspray as well, for a strong hold, for the rest of the evening.
Despite the fact that the brand advises you to reapply daily to achieve the same wow effect, I believe the results maintain beautifully between washes.
I prefer to use it wet hair, after I wash it with my usual shampoo. It doesn’t interact with my hair loss treatment shampoo in any way, despite the fact that it’s from a different brand. I use about 4-5 pumps, despite the fact that I have fine hair.
Nioxin Diaboost effects on men with alopecia
I used it on my clients as well. For instance, in one of the commercials I’ve done hair & makeup for last week, I attended to an actor who had sparse, thinning hair and a receding hairline. Nioxin Diaboost helped me camouflage his condition better than any volumising hair powder ever did.
I love the fresh, peppermint oil scent and because this product is so lightweight, I honestly don’t feel it in there, so I’m inclined to use more than I probably need. I’ll try to temper myself in the future, since this product is not cheap and I plan to include it in my usual hair regimen.
I advise you do the same, if you want to detect more body and volume in your hair.
